Lancer Connect is a mentoring program for pre-nursing students that connects them with staff and peer mentors who provide guidance, encouragement, resources, and practical support. The program helps students build community, succeed academically, and explore their calling, whether that leads to admission to CBU鈥檚 College of Nursing or discovering an alternative pathway in healthcare or another field.
How to Get Involved
Lancer Connect mentors support pre-nursing students as they adjust to university life, strengthen their academic skills, and prepare for the next step in their educational journey. As a mentor, you will provide guidance, encouragement, and practical insight while helping students navigate the unique experiences and challenges that may come with being a first-generation college student.
To serve as a Lancer Connect mentor, students must:
- Be currently enrolled in CBU鈥檚 College of Nursing
- Have a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Be willing to meet regularly with students
- Provide encouragement, guidance, and referrals to appropriate campus resources
- Participate in required mentor training and program activities
Upcoming Workshops
Lancer Connect offers workshops throughout the academic year to help pre-nursing students build community, strengthen their academic skills, prepare for the nursing application process, and explore healthcare career pathways.

You do not have to navigate your pre-nursing journey alone. The Lancer Connect support team includes Retention Programming staff and peer mentors who are here to answer questions, connect you with resources, and encourage you throughout your time at CBU.
